III. Member Topics –

Darlene Surhigh/Lakeview wanted to know why a special meeting was called rather than a regular Board meeting. Bob explained that we need to get the Zenith steps underway asap. Darlene also asked about compensation for Tom Wilson’s work on the beach. Bob explained that all of her questions would be answered during the meeting.

Bob Maleszyk/7371 Oak was concerned about action by the Board in allowing beach work without a meeting. He asked if Tom was insured and would the Heights be responsible if he were injured. He also asked if we needed approval from the DNR to move sand. He noticed that Tom had cut some branches on the beach. Bob explained that he spoke with Tom about insurance and Tom said he would use his insurance to cover himself if injured. Several Board members said that we own the property above the high water mark and we can move sand on the beaches. Bob explained that Tom was only cutting branches in the way of moving sand.

IV. New Business –

Dottie moved to accept the proposal/bid from Ted Parker for steps on Zenith in the amount of $33,150. Don seconded the motion. There was a discussion about saving $2,000 on the Zenith steps by not having benches at the top of the staircase. Lynn was in favor of this cost saving. Gladys felt all the staircases should be built the same way.

Roll Call vote was called. Bob/Yes, Glady/Yes, Diana/Yes, Lynn/No, Don/Yes, John/Yes, Renee/Yes, Liz/Yes, Dottie/Yes Motioned passed. (20231)
