Board of Trustees Meeting
July 23, 2022
I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by President, Bob Alimpich, at 9:03.
II. Trustees Present
Bob Alimpich, Liz Alimpich, Renee Jobbit, Don McColman, Dottie Schulte, Lynn Secord, Glady Stablein, and Kurt Riese were all present. Diana Larsson was absent/excused.
III. Reading of July 9, 2022 Minutes
The Board silently read the Minutes. Dottie moved to accept the Minutes as read. Glady seconded. Motion passed. (202217)
IV. Treasurer’s Report
A treasurer’s report was not available because Diana is still in the hospital. She will put together a report for our August meeting.
V. Member Topics
Debbie B. on 7086 Lakeview thanked Natalie and Steve on Woodside for stopping and helping with the bluff project near Maple. She also thanked the Board for acknowledging her and Jim’s work. She also thinks that people running for the Board should follow the rules about dogs on leashes.
Mike Ryan on Lakeview had a problem with the website. Dutch checked it and said it was fine. Mike thanked Glady for monitoring when he cut the sumac on the bluff. (Mike had Board permission.)
Ron on Grove expressed his concern that there is more slumping on the bluff behind his house.
VI. Committee Reports
Clubhouse – Renee Keyes is excited about taking over next year as clubhouse manager. Dottie is ordering the toilets. Julie requested that if we can’t replace the flooring in the bathrooms that we paint the floors. Discussion about the clock. Lynn said that Tom Kiepert was going to donate a clock. (Note: Tom Kiepert donated a clock.) Clubhouse will be powerwashed by Heidi Riese and other volunteers. (Friday, July 29, 9:00 AM)
Bluff/Parkway - Liz and Debbie have been researching bluff maintenance. They would like to do a packet for Lakeview residents explaining why you don’t trim to the edge. It was suggested that the information be put on the website for all residents. Dottie is contacting the Croswell garage regarding the Nymph drain (cap).
Beaches/Jetties/Boat Ramp – Dottie noticed some blankets, trash etc. on Juniper/Ivy. She removed the debris and threw it away.
Bylaws/Enforcement – Glady said they couldn’t work on the bylaws because a committee member was sick.
Website – Lynn posted a link to order t-shirts (long sleeve and short sleeve), hooded zipped sweatshirts, flag with our logo, and decals on our homepage. Order online from Lakeshore Graphics or drop your order off at the store. (corner of Oak and Lakeshore) This is a fundraiser for the Zenith stairs project. Kurt is working on getting a letter from the county regarding the easement on Zenith.
VII. Unfinished Business
Renee reminded everyone about voting from 11:00 – 3:00 today. Counting of the ballots will begin after 3:00.
The dues increase will be ready when Diana returns.
VIII. Executive Session
Liz made the motion: I move that the Board meet in Executive session under section 8(e) of the Open Meetings Act to consult with our attorney regarding the settlement of the Adkins lawsuit. Glady seconded. (7 yeas, Kurt nay) Motion passed. (202218) These Minutes will be published when the lawsuit is settled. Liz made the Motion to adjourn from the Executive session at 11:00. Dottie seconded. All in favor. Motion passed. (202219)
IX. Adjournment
